Davia draws a shape with 5 sides tow sides are each 5 inches long.tow other sides are each 4 inches long.the perimeter of the shapes is 27 inches. What is the length of the fifth side?

Perimeter = the sum of all sides
Because we know that 2 sides are 5 inches and that 2 other sides are 4 inches long, we can subtract this number from the total 27 to get the 5th side.      5+5+4+4 = 18        27-18= 9
The fifth side = 9 inches
