Which of the following statements is NOT true regarding ATP production in muscles during periods of prolonged energy use, such a
Marysya12 [62]

Answer:

C.In the absence of oxygen, creatine phosphate can drive aerobic respiration pathways for a few minutes.

Explanation:

C. In the absence of oxygen, creatine phosphate can drive aerobic respiration pathways for a few minutes.

This statement  not true for a following reasons.

Firstly,  creatine phosphate directly phosphorylates ATP instead of providing any support for aerobic pathways.

Secondly, creatine phosphate stores are used up in about 15 seconds only. Thirdly, a cell does not need  oxygen deficit for creatine phosphate to be activated, it just needs to be short on ATP.

Is the muscular system diffrent from a girl and boy
OlgaM077 [116]

The muscle system for a boy and a girl are the same. They can perform and respond in the same manner. The difference only occurs in the development of muscle mass, where men can develop more muscle mass than female. This difference is brought by the type of activities that the two sexes engage in. Muscle group development can be altered by a person’s current exercise program and way of life.

There is a net gain of how many ATP molecules for each molecule of glucose processed to pyruvate via glycolysis:
Elina [12.6K]

Answer:

2

Explanation:

Glycolysis or EMP pathway is first stage of cellular respiration that occur in the cytoplasm of every living cell. It is a common process of both anaerobic and aerobic respiration. During glycolysis glucose, a 6 carbon sugar is converted into two molecules of pyruvate, a three carbon sugar. During this conversion 4 ATP molecules are produced. Two oxidise glucose to pyruvate, 2 ATP molecules are also required or used up. Thus, a net gain of 2 ATP molecules at the completion of glycolysis.
