160. 80 is half of 160.

Well if it is on sale for $80 and it is half-off, that means that the original price is $160 because 80/2 is 160.

How to do long division with 540÷36
ehidna [41]

divide 36 into 540    36 will divide into the 54 1 time subtract 36 from 54, that gives you 18, bring down the zero from the number 540, now you have 180 to divide by 36, 36 will divide into 180  five times, so your answer is 15

The answer is 15

How to add fractions with unlike denominators?
Ainat [17]
Change the fractions so they have common denominators. For example. If adding 4/8 + 2/3, a common denominator of the two could be 24. Change both fractions to have a denominator of 24. To do this:

(4/8)×(3/3)= 12/24
(2/3)×(8/8)=16/24

Now that both fractions have denominators of 24, you can simply add the numerators to get your answer. in this case, it would be 28/24

Find the missing side lengths. Leave your answers as radicals in simplest form.
Citrus2011 [14]

This is the isosceles right triangle, the diagonal of a square, the thing that so upset the Pythagoreans. The two sides and diagonal of a square are in ratio 1:1:\sqrt{2} so we get

u = v =  8

We could have also gotten this using Trig:

u = (8 \sqrt{2}) \sin 45^\circ = 8 \sqrt{2}/\sqrt{2} = 8

v = (8\sqrt{2})\cos 45^\circ = 8

Or by recognizing u=v because remaining angle is 45 so this must be isosceles so

u^2 + u^2 = (8 \sqrt{2})^2

2u^2 = 2 (8^2)

u = 8
