I would first suggest you to find the square root of 20. This means that you need to find two factors, one of which needs to be a perfect square. Seems like 4 x 5 can work because 4 is a perfect square.

So \sqrt{20} can also be written as \sqrt{4} \times \sqrt{5}. We know that the square root of 4 is 2. Thus, the square root of 20 is 2 times the square root of 5 (2 \sqrt{5}).

We now have 2 \sqrt{5} \times \sqrt{2} and since 2 is not a perfect square we cannot really simplify it any further. Therefore, we just multiply the square root of 5 and the square root of 2 because they are under the radical sign. So we get 2 \sqrt{5 \times 2} = 2\sqrt{10}.

A van and a truck both drove from Town A to Town B. The distance
Gala2k [10]
First we need to find out the time it took for the truck to reach town B.

Speed= \frac{Distance}{Time}

40= \frac{200}{T}
T=5hours

Now, because the van left 1.5 hours earlier and reached the destination 2.5 hours before, it took 1 hour less the the truck to arrive.

5hours-1hour=4hours which is the time it took for the van to arrive.

Now we use the speed equation again to work out speed.

Speed= \frac{200}{4}

Speed=50mph = speed of van

Hope this helped :)

One of the legs of a right triangle is 9 cm. If the area of the triangle is 225 cm², then the length of the other leg is
ioda

Given:

One of the legs of a right triangle is 9 cm.

The area of the triangle is 225 cm².

To find:

The length of the other leg.

Solution:

The area of a triangle is

Area=\dfrac{1}{2}\times Base\times Height

The area of a right triangle is

Area=\dfrac{1}{2}\times (leg_1)\times (leg_2)

Let x be the length of other leg.

225=\dfrac{1}{2}\times (9)\times (x)

2\times 225=9x

\dfrac{450}{9}=x

50=x

Therefore, the length of the other leg is 50 cm.
