A factory makes processors for use in computers. it is known that about 90% of the processors meet specifications. every week a

sample of 18 processors is selected at random for testing. assume a binomial distribution is valid. suppose we collect a large number of these samples of 18 processors and determine the number meeting specifications in each sample. what is the mean number of processors meeting specifications?

First recall the binomial distribution:
B(k,n,p)=C_n^kp^k(1-p)^{n-k}\\\text{Here n=18,p=0.9, therefore:}\\B(k,n,p)=C_{18}^k0.9^k\times0.1^{18-k}\\\text{In order to find the mean, we have to evaluate the following formula:}\\\sum P(X=k)\times k=\sum_{k=0}^{k=18} \frac{18!}{k!(18-k)!}0.9^k\times0.1^{18-k}k

Using a calculator we get the mean equal approximatively 91.

The mean number of processors meeting specifications is 16.2In order to get the mean number of the precessors meeting specification we will multiply the 90% to 18 which will give us 16.2, it is the basic or the most easy way to get the mean number. The answer is 16.2

Answer:

It is A and D.

Step-by-step explanation:

One answer would be 1.50x + 3600 = 1200, because he sells x many bags for $1.50 each, and add 3600 to it

The other answer is 1.5(2400 + x) = 12000, this is equal to 3600 + 1.5x = 1200, the same as the first equation.

The other answers are all wrong.

What real life object could a triangular prism be used for
Veseljchak [2.6K]
We can start out simple, so here's some:

If you ever drew a sea saw as a child, or seen it, you probably had seen a part that looks like a triangular prism. It's somewhere in the structure.

Many building infrastructures have them. The roofs of many houses are pointed in some what of a triangle like shape so that rain water can roll off of them easier.

Hope these two help or at least spark some ideas!

Hello from MrBillDoesMath!

Answer:   factor = 4

Discussion:

Look at the sequence of numbers

1/64,  1/16,    1/4,    1,   4

It's seems clear that multiplying a term by 4 gives the next term in the sequence.

Thank you,

Jim’s football team started a play on the 50 yard line. On the first play, the team had a 7-yard gain. On the second play, they
lawyer [7]

This is a basic addition/subtraction question. It's saying that they started at the 50 yard line. On the play, they gained 7 yards. So, we'll add 50+7 = 57.

They're at the 57 yard line at this point. On the second play they lost 10 yards (how unfortunate). Thereby, we will subtract 57-10=47.

50 yards +7 yards. -10 yards.

The answer will be that they'll be on the 47 yard line on the next play.
