Midpoint between the points (x1,y1) and (x2,y2) is ( \frac{x_1+x_2}{2},\frac{y_1+y_2}{2} )

so if mid is (-1,2) and an endpoint is (3,2) then
mid between (3,2) and (x2,y2) is ( \frac{3+x_2}{2},\frac{2+y_2}{2} )

the x values and y values corespond

(3+x2)/2=-1
times 2
3+x2=-2
minus 3
x2=-5

other one
(2+y2)/2=2
times 2
2+y2=4
minus 2
y2=2

the other point is (-5,2)

The other endpoint would have to be (-5,2), going off the definition of a midpoint. Since 3 is for units to the right of -1, that would mean that the other end point would have to be 4 units to the left, which is -5.

STatiana [176]

A rectangular school banner has a length of 44 inches, a perimeter of 156 inches, and an area of 1,496 square inches. the cheerleaders make signs similar to the banner. the length of a sign is 11 inches. First solve the width of the rectangle:

1496 sq in/ 44 = 34 in

So the sign has also a width of 34 in and a length of 11 so the area is 34*11 =374 sq in

<span>The perimeter is (34*2) +(11*2) =90 in</span>

Tomas wrote the equation y = 3x +3/4. When Sandra wrote her equation, they discovered that her equation had all the same solutio
mamaluj [8]
–6x + 2y = 3/2

or, 2y= 6x + 3/2
or, y= (6x + 3/2)/2
or, y = 6x/2 + 3/4
or, y = 3x + 3/4

Therefore, –6x + 2y = 3/2 is Sandra's equation.
