The other scale will either have a higher or lower number because 400 could be the bigger number or the smaller number but we don't know that so you cant exactly answer it.<span />

You will take 400N divide by 2. The answer will be 200N.

A rock is thrown downward from a height of 207 m with an initial velocity of 5.37 m/s. Approximately how fast will it it be movi
Zolol [24]

List the known information:

x_0=207 \text{ m}\\v_0=-5.37 \text{ m/s}\\t=3.03 \text{ s}\\a=-g=-9.8 \text{ m/s}^2

Use the kinematic equation v=v_0+at.

Plug in the given values:

v=-5.37 \text{ m/s}+(-9.8 \text{ m/s}^2)(3.03 \text{ s})=-35.064 \text{ m/s}

This would be 35.064 m/s downward, or 35 m/s downward with significant figures taken into account.

How does angular momentum affect snowboarders ?
spayn [35]

Explanation:

The physics principle that goes to aerial spinning and twisting can be related to the conservation of angular momentum. ... Since momentum cannot be changed mid-air, he must decrease his rotational mass in order to increase his angular velocity. To increase his angular velocity the snowboarder tucks in his arms

A rifle is aimed horizontally at a target 49 m away. the bullet hits the target 2.3 cm below the aim point. part a what was the
Nezavi [6.7K]

We use the equation of motion for vertical component,

s_{y} = u_{y} t+\frac{1}{2} gt^2.

Here, s_{y}   is displacement of bullet, u_{y}  is vertical initial velocity of bullet which is equal to zero because bullet was fired horizontally, and t is time of flight.

Therefore,

s_{y} =\frac{1}{2}gt^2

Given, s_{y} =2.3 \ cm = 2.3 \times 10^{-2} \ m

Substituting the values, we get time of flight

2.3 \times 10^{-2} \ m = \frac{1}{2} \times 9.8 \ m/s^2 \times t^2 \\\\ t =\sqrt{46.94 \times 10^{-4} \ s } = 0.069 \ s
