In the poem the golden cat, a narrator describes a cat who brings joy and light to the world. Which best describes whether this

poem is fiction or fact?
a) This scene is factual. We know that poets write a lot about their lives, so the events in this poem must have really happened.
b) This poem is fictional. While the events might have happened, we can’t be sure that they actually happened. There’s no way to check and see whether the poem is factual, so it must be fiction.
c) Cats do exist, and many cats do bring joy to their owners; this poem is exaggerated but is still factual.
d) while the narrator is a real person, his encounter with the cat is fictional.

The correct answer is D <em>"while the narrator is a real person, his encounter with the cat is fictional."</em>

This is because we know for sure the narrator does exist, the story he tells is takes place on Earth but we don't know if the cat does. He brings joy and light to the world but it obvius it does not exist, he is talking to it while it is outside the real world.

Which pronoun best completes the sentence? How is the pronoun used? Dad made these pickle-and-peanut-butter sandwiches for _____
Basile [38]

Start by labeling the other nouns in the sentence. Dad is the subject, and pickle-and-peanut-butter sandwiches are the indirect objects, because the direct object, which is now known as ___ and Stan, is receiving them. So eliminate A and B because they are indirect objects. We is a subjective pronoun, and us is an objective, so the correct answer is C.

What is the main idea of chapter 7 in is Sonia Sotomayor
katrin2010 [14]

Answer:

Sonia earns a reputation as a fair and capable judge with her ruling in the baseball strike case.

Explanation:

Megan Stine's "Who is Sonia Sotomayor" covers in nine chapters Sonia's life from the early childhood through her college years and beginning of her law career to her finally becoming one of the nine Supreme Court judges.

Chapter 7 refers to her work as a lawyer and the path she crossed in the process of becoming a judge in the District Court.

Also, this chapter introduces the idea of Sonia being quite capable and fair judge by giving an example of one of her first big cases, in which her ruling was highly praised.

It was the case of Malor League baseball players vs. the team owners. The situation reaches a critical point and the future of the League was in a great danger due to the players' seven months long strike.

Judge Sotomayor, however, quickly reached the verdict which resulted in ending of the strike and making Sonia famous and establishing herself as a fair and capable judge.
