Crooks is a black man who mindlessly warbles to Lennie about the hardships of loneliness and being Black. Lennie tells Croooks about the farm dream and at first, he doesn't see this working out, but then agrees to join in. The gang returns and Lennie admits to George about telling Crooks their plan
