Glycogenesis is a process by which glucose is converted into glycogen in the liver cells.

Further Explanation:

Glucose is the major source of energy that is used by the entire body. It is mainly required for all metabolic activity. When the molecule of glucose is not available in the body, then they can metabolize glucose from pyruvate. The process of glycolysis and gluconeogenesis is quite similar and it is the reverse reaction of glycolysis. The source of glucose is also present in the body such as starch and glycogen.

Glycogenesis is a process of formation of glycogen. This process mainly takes place in the liver of the body. The glucose molecule by this process is stored in the muscle and liver cells. This process happens when the level of blood glucose is high and the body doesn’t require glucose. Mainly this process is started when a hormone called insulin is activated. It helps in facilitating the absorption of glucose into the muscle cells. This process is mainly used to store glucose for future requirements.

Glucose is a simple sugar which has a chemical formula of C6H12O6. This is one of the most common sugar present in the food and drinks. This is also utilized when the body is in need of energy. The synthesizing of the glycogen present in the body from glucose is called glycogenesis.

This process takes place in the Cytosol. The process also requires ATP and UTP.

What enzyme or function is being affected in mutant (a), causing many mismatched base pairs?
igor_vitrenko [27]
DNA polymerase is the enzyme that is responsible for adding correct nucleotide pairs to new and growing DNA strands. Mismatched base pair errors will occur if this enzymes is not able to function optimally. There are other system that work DNA polymerase, these are proof reading system and mismatch repair system. Less than optimum function of these system will lead to uncorrected mismatched base pairs.
