Rate of the reaction is represented as

Rate=k[A][B]

Rate represents change in product concentration with time that has a unit Ms- Whereas concentration of each reactant can be represented as M . so the expression will become:

Ms-1=k[M][M]

k=M-1 s-1.

Answer : The unit of 'k' of the given expression will be, M^{-1}s^{-1}

Explanation:

Rate of reaction : It is defined as the rate of change in concentration of reactant or product with respect to time.

The given rate expression is,

Rate=k[A][B]

From this expression we conclude that the power of concentration of reactant A and B are 1, 1. That means it is a second order reaction.

The formula for determining the unit of 'k' is:

\text{Unit}=\frac{(Concentration)^{1-n}}{Time}

where, n = order of reaction

The unit of concentration is, M or mole/L

The unit of time is, second or 's'.

When n = 0

The unit of 'k' = \frac{(M)^{1-0}}{s}=Ms^{-1}

When n = 1

The unit of 'k' = \frac{(M)^{1-1}}{s}=s^{-1}

When n = 2

The unit of 'k' = \frac{(M)^{1-2}}{s}=M^{-1}s^{-1}

and so on.....

Therefore, the unit of 'k' of the following expression is, M^{-1}s^{-1}

The following substances dissolve when added to water. Classify the substances according to the strongest solute-solvent interac
Montano1993 [528]

Answer: HF-dipole- dipole interaction

CH3OH- dipole-dipole interaction

CaCl2- ion-ion interaction

Explanation:

Both CH3OH and HF possess permanent dipoles which interact with water leading to the dissolution of the above named substances. Remember that water also possesses a permanent dipole. Which can interact with the dipoles on other polar molecules. CaCl2 is purely ionic and interacts with water via ion-dipole mechanism.

What is the correct electron configuration for copper?
kakasveta [241]

Answer:

[Ar] 3d10 4s1

Explanation:

The correct electronic configuration of copper is [Ar] 3d10 4s1

Copper has atomic number 29 and due to the stability of half filled or fully filled orbitals or shells, the electrons from the 4s jumps to the 3d and makes the 3d shell contain 10 electrons.

This is what I mean:

Cu = Ar 4s2 3d10 is the expected configuration of copper when we follow the principle of filling the various orbitals that is the s, p, d, f orbitals.

But because we write 3d before writing 4s, we have Ar 3d10 4s2. Instead of this configuration becoming the correct one, an electron from the 4s orbital jumps to the 3d orbital to complete the orbital giving the electrons in the 3d orbital 10.

So therefore the correct configuration is Ar 3d10 4s1

Water vapor is condensed steam. <br><br> True <br> False
adelina 88 [10]

False, because water vapor, water vapour or aqueous vapor, is the gaseous phase of water. It is one state of water within the hydrosphere. Water vapor can be produced from the evaporation or boiling of liquid water or from the sublimation of ice. Unlike other forms of water, water vapor is invisible.
