Answer:30° - 3d ≤ 20°

Step-by-step explanation:

We have to represent the rate of temperature decrease in degrees .We will represent this by "d" which stands for degree.

According to the question , temperature decreased at a constant rate in the next three days

Therefore , the total decreasing in three days = 3d degree i.e 3 *d=3d

Temperature on Monday = 30°

Then the temperature on Thursday is this = 30° - 3d

Since, The swimming pool is open when the high temperature is higher than 20°=≤20

= 30° - 3d ≤ 20°

This is the required inequality to determine the rate of temperature decrease in degrees Celsius per day, "d"from Monday to Thursday.

String A is 3 5/6 meters long. String B is 2 1/4 meters long. What’s the total length of both strings?
dalvyx [7]

<u><em>Answer:</em></u>

The total length of the two strings is \frac{73}{12} meters

<u><em>Explanation:</em></u>

<u>Before beginning, remember the following:</u>

a\frac{b}{c}=\frac{ac+b}{c}

<u>Now, for the given problem:</u>

<u>We are given that:</u>

Length of string A = 3\frac{5}{6}=\frac{23}{6} meters

Length of string B = 2\frac{1}{4}=\frac{9}{4} meters

<u>To get their sum, we follow these steps:</u>

a. Make the denominator for the two fractions the same

b. Add the numerators

c. Simplify

<u>This is done as follows:</u>

For the given fractions, the common denominator will be 4×6 = 24

<u>Therefore:</u>

String  A = \frac{92}{24} m and String B = \frac{54}{24} m

<u>Now, we add:</u>

\frac{92}{24}+\frac{54}{24}=\frac{92+54}{24}=\frac{146}{24}

<u>Finally, we simplify:</u>

\frac{146}{24}=\frac{73}{12} obtained by dividing both numerator and denominator by 2

Hope this helps :)
