<span>The nurse should review any lab report of renal (or kidney) function. If clearance is below 30mL/min, then the injection should not be given. Administration of Boniva has been associated with renal toxicity and even failure. It should especially be avoided in any case of a patient who has had any prior kidney damage.</span>
