Answer:

Explanation:

Give that,

Mass of object

Ma = 40kg

Mb = 35kg

Velocity of mass A Va = 50m/s

Velocity of mass B Vb = 30m/s

Since after collision the two bodies stick together(inelastic collision), then, they will have a common velocity

Let assume common velocity V

So using conservation of linear momentum

Momentum before collision is equal to momentum after collision

P(before) = P(after)

Note P = mV and momentum is a vector quantity

So we assume, that the small mass is moving in the negative direction

P(before) = P(after)

Ma•Va —Mb•Vb = (Ma+Mb)V

40×50—35×30 = (40+35)V

950 = 75V

Then, V = 950/75

V = 12.67 m/s

The common velocity is 12.67 m/s

The equation of a wave is represented by: Y = 0.005sin 2π(0.5x – 200t) where x and y are in meters and t in seconds. Find its i.
lys-0071 [83]

Answer:

See solution below

Explanation:

The standard equation of a wave is represented by: Y = Asin 2π(x/λ – ft)

A is the amplitude

λ is the wavelength

f is the frequency

t is the time

Comparing the standard with the given equation Y = 0.005sin 2π(0.5x – 200t)

i) A = 0.005m

Amplitude is 0.005m

ii) ω = 2πf

ω = 2π(200)

ω = 400π rad/s

iii) ω = 2πf

400π = 2πf

200 = f

Swap

f = 200Hertz

iv) Period = 1/f

Period = 1/200

Period = 0.005secs

v) wave number  =

vi) Wavelength λ

0.5x = x/λ

0.5 = 1/λ

λ  = 1/0.5

λ = 2m

vii) velocity - fλ

velocity = 200 * 2

velocity = 400m/s

Sonja,the skater rolls down a ramp 50 meters and finishes in 5 seconds.what is her speed?
SIZIF [17.4K]
Time = distance/speed. Speed = distance/time = 50/5 = 10m/s.

A large, metallic, spherical shell has no net charge. It is supported on an insulating stand and has a small hole at the top. A
tino4ka555 [31]

Answer:

(a) Negative Q

(b) Positive Q

Explanation:

Charge is the inherent property of matter due to the transference of electrons.

There are three methods of charging a body.

(i) Charging by friction: When two uncharged bodies rubbed together, then one body gets positive charged and the other is negatively charges it is due to the transference of electrons form one body to another.

(ii) Conduction: when a charged body comes in contact with the another uncharged body, the uncharged body gets the same charge and the charge is distributed equally.

(iii) Induction: When a uncharged body keep near the charged body, the uncharged body gets the same amount of charge but opposite in sign.

(a) When a small tack of charge Q is lowered into the hole, then due to the process of induction, the charge on the inner surface of the shell is - Q.

(b) Due to the process of conduction, the charge on the outer surface of the shell is Q.
