To find this, you must find the total number of point Sara has scored already.  She has answer 10 multiple choice questions which are 4 points each.  This means that Sara has scored 40 points so far.

If Sara wants to score at least 70 points, she needs to score at least 30 more points.  To find how many open ended questions she needs to answer, you need to divide the remaining number of points by the number of points an open ended question is worth.  The number we get will be x.

30/5 = 6

This means Sara must complete at least 6 open ended questions to score 70.  Now all we have to do is figure out which inequality sign to use.  Since Sara wants to score more than 70 points, it should be the "greater than" sign.

Your answer is:  x>6  (The first selection)

Hope this helps! :)

In an investment account what if $2000 is invested. What is the value after 3 years if compounded monthly by 6% ?
OleMash [197]
<span>
Compound interest formula  A = P(1 +r/100)^n
A = Amount
r = rate = 6
n = number of compounding time.
P = Principal = $2000.
Since we are compounding monthly, r = 6% p.a = (6/12)% per month.
n= 3 years = 3*12 = 36 months.
Note that  since we are compounding monthly, our time would be in months.
A = P(1 +r/100)^n
A = 2000 * (1 + (6/12)/100 )^36
A = 2000 * (1 +  6/1200)^36
</span><span>A = 2000 * (1 +  0.005)^36    Use your calculator</span>
<span> <span>A = 2000 * (1 .005)^36</span> = 2393.36
Amount = $2 393.36</span>
That's it. Cheers.

Determine the functions value when x= -1?a. g(-1) = -3b. g(-1) = 0c. g(-1) = 1d. g(-1) = 27
Ber [7]

Problem

Determine the functions value when x= -1?

a. g(-1) = -3

b. g(-1) = 0

c. g(-1) = 1

d. g(-1) = 27

Solution

For this case we just need to find the value of g when x= -1 and if we look at the table we got:

g(-1)= (-1)^3 + 6(-1)^2 +12(-1) +8

g(-1)= -1 +6 -12+8 = 5-12+8= 1

And then the solution for this case would be:

c. g(-1) = 1

On Thursday, Movietown Theater made \dfrac45
Oliga [24]

Answer:

11 Pounds

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the total pounds of popcorn made by Movietown Theater=x

On Thursday, they made \dfrac{4}{5} of their popcorn with butter.

The remaining fraction of the butter will be: 1-\dfrac{4}{5} =\dfrac{1}{5}

The remaining 35.2 Ounces was made without butter.

Let us convert from ounces to pounds.

  • 1 Ounce =0.0625 Pound
  • 35.2 Ounce=35.2 X 0.0625 =2.2 Pounds

Therefore:

\dfrac{1}{5} \text{of the total pounds of popcorn} = 2.2\\\dfrac{1}{5}* x = 2.2\\x=2.2* 5\\x=11 $ Pounds

Therefore, the total pounds of popcorn made by Movietown Theater on Thursday is 11 Pounds.
