Sara is taking a test made up of multiple-choice and open-ended questions. The multiple-choice questions have a value of 4 point

s each, and the open-ended questions have a value of 5 points each. If Sara has already answered 10 multiple-choice questions correctly, which inequality best describes the amount of open-ended questions Sara must answer correctly to earn more than 70 points?

To find this, you must find the total number of point Sara has scored already.  She has answer 10 multiple choice questions which are 4 points each.  This means that Sara has scored 40 points so far.

If Sara wants to score at least 70 points, she needs to score at least 30 more points.  To find how many open ended questions she needs to answer, you need to divide the remaining number of points by the number of points an open ended question is worth.  The number we get will be x.

30/5 = 6

This means Sara must complete at least 6 open ended questions to score 70.  Now all we have to do is figure out which inequality sign to use.  Since Sara wants to score more than 70 points, it should be the "greater than" sign.

Your answer is:  x>6  (The first selection)

Hope this helps! :)

A and B are two events.
maria [59]

Answer:

0.8

Step-by-step explanation:

We can solve P(A or B) by using the following:

P(AorB)=P(A)+P(B)-P(AandB)

Since we know P(A) = 0.6, P(B) = 0.3 and P(A and B) = 0.1 we obtain:

P(AorB)=0.6+0.3-0.1=0.8

Answer:

f(x) = 2

Step-by-step explanation:

f(x) represents a linear function since it had the same first differences while the "x" values are evenly space out (which we know could happen only if the function is linear). Now that we determined that the function is linear we have to write the function as an expression.

We know that any linear function has a form of f(x) = mx + b, where "m" is the slope and "b" is the y intercept (y value when x is equal to 0).

As I already mentioned the b will be equal tp the "y" intersect which is equal to the "y" value when x is equal to zero. Luckily in our table they did tell us what will be the "y" value when x is equal to zero, and it is 2. So now we know b = 2.

Then we have have to find the slope which can be found by using the following formula.....

m = \frac{y_{2} - y_{1} }{x_{2} - x_{1} }

Now we have to choose two different points from table and let the one that has bigger x value be represented as  (x_{2} , y_{2} ) and the other one will be represented as (x_{1}, y_{1} ). In our case I choose the points (2,2) and (1,2). Now if we represent them as what I mentioned earlier we can substitute their values into the equation that we ca use to find the slope. You should obtain the following.....

m = \frac{y_{2} - y_{1} }{x_{2} - x_{1} } = \frac{2 -2}{2-1} =  \frac{0}{1} = 0

Now that we know both the "m" and "b" values we can substitute them into the equation, and we will get he following....

f(x) = mx + b

f(x) = 0x + 2

f(x) = 2

Linear function g is shown in the graph. Write the slope-intercept form of the equation representing this function.
jenyasd209 [6]

Answer:

y = -2x + 1

Step-by-step explanation:

First, find the slope with rise/run (y2 - y1) / (x2 - x1)

We can use the points (-1, 3) and (0, 1)

Plug in the points:

(1 - 3) / (0 + 1)

-2/1

= -2

The y-intercept is (0, 1) because that is the point where the line intercepts the y axis. So, we can plug in the slope and y-intercept into the equation:

y = mx + b

y = -2x + 1
