For 2.5% rise we first find increase and then add it to 6

Increase = 2.5% of 6 = 2.5/100 × 6= 15/100 =0.15$

New rates = $(6+0.15) = $6.15

Solve this system of equations by substitution
x=y+3
x+7=2y
stiv31 [10]

Answer:

(13, 10 )

Step-by-step explanation:

Given the 2 equations

x = y + 3 → (1)

x + 7 = 2y → (2)

Substitute x = y + 3 into (2)

y + 3 + 7 = 2y

y + 10 = 2y ( subtract y from both sides )

10 = y

Substitute y = 10 into (1) for corresponding value of x

x = 10 + 3 = 13

solution is (13, 10 )
