Striated muscle tissues are muscle tissue that made up of repeated long functional units known as sarcomeres. The long bands of sarcomeres along with muscle fibers provide it a striated appearance. Striated muscles have more mitochondria in it and also contain cells that are multinucleated, unlike smooth muscles. The major function of these muscles is to generate force and contract. Heart and respiratory organs have such muscle.
