To work out the area or perimeter of any compound shape, split the shape so that you are left with regular shapes e.g. for 9b split the shape and you will get two rectangles
Then you can easily work the area/perimeter of the shapes you made and add them up

The answer is a, you add the numbers up get 4.22 which is equivalent to 4 whole aka ones and since .22 is a decimal you use your tenths and hundredths
I believe the answer is 21
