To predict the change or shif t in equilibrium, we use Le Chatelier's Principle. The reaction absorbs heat or is endothermic so that heat is being supplied for it to proceed. If the temperature of the system is increased, the equilibrium would continue to the right or to producing more of the products since heat is added continuously.

What is the half-life of an isotope that decays to 12.5% of its original activity in 19.8 hours?
katen-ka-za [31]
x= x_{0}  e^{kt} ,where~ x ~is~ the ~ |amount\ of \material\ at\ any~~time~t

and~ x_{0} ~the~original~amount.
when~x=  \frac{12.5}{100} x_{0}  }= \frac{125}{1000}  x_{0}
\frac{x}{ x_{0} } = \frac{125}{1000}= \frac{1}{8}
when t=19.8 hrs,
x= x_{0}  e^{19.8 k},
 \frac{x}{ x_{0} } = e^{19.8 k},
 \frac{1}{8} = e^{19.8k} ,
ln \frac{1}{8} =19.8 k,

ln1-ln8=19.8k,
0-ln 2^{3} =19.8 k,
-3 ln2=19.8k
k= \frac{-3 ln2}{19.8} = \frac{- ln 2}{6.6}x= x_{0}  e^{ \frac{-ln2}{6.6}t } ,
 \frac{x}{ x_{0} } = e^{ \frac{- ln 2}{6.6}t }
\frac{1}{2} = e^{ \frac{- ln2}{6.6}t } = \frac{1}{ e^{ \frac{ln 2}{6.6} t} } ,
2= e^{ \frac{ln2}{6.6}t } ,
ln2=ln  e^{ \frac{ln 2}{6.6}t } = \frac{ln 2}{6.6} t~ln e= \frac{ln2}{6.6} t,

Manganese (Mn) has many possible oxidation numbers (+2 and +4 are just two of these). Write the correct formulas and names for t
ohaa [14]

Answer:

Oxide of manganese, Potassium permanganate, Manganese bromide and manganese oxide.

Explanation:

1. Manganese dioxide

Its chemical formula is $MnO_2$. It is +4 oxidation state. It is a black solid which is fairly stable.

2. Potassium permanganate

Its chemical formula is $KMnO_4$. It is commonly used in the laboratories as oxidizing agent. They appear black in color.

3 Manganese bromide

Its chemical formula is $MnBr_2$

4. Oxides of manganese

Chemical formula is $Mn_3O_4$

The most stable state of Manganese is +2 oxidation state.

. Is it possible to have an oxygen atom with 8 protons and another oxygen atom with 9 protons? Explain.
Scorpion4ik [409]

Answer:

no

Explanation:

changing the number of protons will change the atomic number, and if the atomic number is changed, it will become a different element. if you give oxygen 9 protons, it would no longer be oxygen, it would be fluoride.
