'a',  'c', and  'd'  are true for any two circles.  That's because
ALL circles are similar.  You don't need to prove it.  The question
is weird.

I NEED HELP :_( Which of the following points is in the solution set of y > -x∧2 + 5? (0, 5) (2, 4) (1, 3)
marysya [2.9K]

Answer:

\huge\boxed{(2;\ 4)}

Step-by-step explanation:

We have

y>-x^2+5

Put the coordinates of the given points and check the inequality:

For (0; 5) → x = 0; y = 5

5>-0^2+5\\5>0+5\\5>5\qquad\bold{FALSE}

For (2; 4) → x = 2, y = 4

4>-2^2+5\\4>-4+5\\4>1\qquad\bold{TRUE}

For (1; 3) → x = 1, y = 3

3>1^2+5\\3>1+5\\3>6\qquad\bold{FALSE}

Find the exact value of cos(arcsin(1/4)). For full credit, explain your reasoning.
Westkost [7]
First way
arcsin(1/4) means that 1/4 sin of the angle.

sin(α)=1/4
sin²α+cos²α=1
(1/4)²+cos²α=1
cos²α=1-1/16 =15/16
cosα=+/-(√15)/4

<span>Second way
</span>
sin(α)=1/4 =opposite leg/hipotenuse
cos(α)=adjacent leg/hypothenuse
adjacent leg =√(hypotenuse²- Opposite²)=√(16-1)=√15
cosα=+/-√15/4

For one value of sinα, possible 2 values of cosα.

A shelf can be packed from end to end with 30 large books or 45 small books.
DerKrebs [107]

Answer:

11

Step-by-step explanation:

since 30÷45 = 2/3 then

The space taken by a small book is equal to

the space taken by 2/3 a large book.

…………………………………………………

<u><em>Calculating the number of large book corresponding to 23 small books</em></u> :

= 23×(2÷3) + 3

= 18.333333333333 (large book)

Then ,Kevin can pack the shelf with (at most) : 30 - 19 = 11 more large books
