An ideal gas at temperature t0 is slowly compressed at constant pressure of 2 atm from a volume of 10 liters to a volume of 2 li

ters. then the volume of the gas is held constant while heat is added, raising the gas temperature back to t0. calculate the work done on the gas. 1 atm = 1.0×105 pascals and 1 liter = 0.001 m3 .

<span>Answer: 1600 J

Explanation:

1) Data:

a) ideal gas: ⇒ pV = nRT and work = ∫ pdV
b) slowly compressed ⇒ constant temperature and not heat exchange
c) pressure: p =  2 atm
d) intitial volume: Vi = 10 liters
e) final volumen: Vf = 2 liters.
f) then the volume of the gas is held constant ⇒ not work in this stage.
g) calculate the work done on the gas: W = ?

2) Equation

W = ∫pdV

3) Solution:

Since p = constant,  W = p ∫dV = p ΔV = p (Vf - Vi)

p = 2 atm × 1.0 ×10⁵ Pa / atm = 200.000 Pa

Vi = 10 liter ×  0.001 m³ ./ liter = 0.01 m³

Vf = 2 liter × 0.001 m³ / liter = 0.002 m³

W = 200.000 Pa × (0.002 m³ - 0.01m³) = - 1.600 J.

The negative sign means the work is done over the system.

That is all the work in the system because at the second stage the volume is held constant.

If you had a mass of 44 g and a volume of 40.5ml what is the density
klio [65]
Here, We know, Density = Mass / Volume
Here, mass = 44 g
volume = 40.5 ml = 40.5 cm³

Substitute their values,
d = 44 / 40.5
d = 1.086 g/cm³

In short, Your Answer would be  1.086 g/cm³

Hope this helps!

A car goes from rest to a speed of 90 km/h in 10 seconds . What is the car's acceleration in m/s²
zloy xaker [14]
First you must convert Km/hr to m/s. 90 km/hr equals 25m/s (this can be done through a conversion table by plugging in the conversion values). Then you need to see what was given:
vi (initial velocity)= 0m/s
vf (final velocity= 25m/s (90km/hr)
t (time)= 10s

Next you should find an equation that requires only the values you know and gives you the value you're looking for. Sometimes that requires two equations to be used, but in this case you only need one. The best equation for this would be a=(vf-vi)/t. Finally, plug in your values (a=(25-0)/10) to get your answer which would be 2.5m/s^2. Hope this helped!

A particle with an initial linear momentum of 2.00 kg-m/s directed along the positive x-axis collides with asecond particle, whi
Anna11 [10]

Answer:

Explanation:

We shall apply conservation of momentum along x and y axis.

Let the final momentum of second particle be p₁ along x axis and p₂ along y axis.

Considering momentum along x axis

2 + 0 = 3 cos 45 + p₁

p₁ = 2-2.12 = - 0.12 kg m/s

Considering momentum along y axis

4 + 0 = 3 sin 45 + p₂

p₂ = 4-2.12 = 1.88  kg m/s

Final momentum = √ ( p₁² + p₂² )

=√ ( .12² + 1.88² )

= 1.88 approx
