A projectile is launched upward from ground level with an intentional speed of 98 m/s. How high will it go? when will it return

to the ground?

Let h(t) represent the height of the projectile after t seconds. If the projectile is being launched from the ground, then h(0)=0, and h(t)=-4.9t²+98t.  When the equation is in this form, the maximum height is determined by -98/2(-4.9), or after 10 seconds. Thus
-4.9(100)+98(10)=490 m as the highest point of the projectile
Then, when it hits the ground, h(t)=0, so
0=-4.9t²+98t
98t=4.9t²
4.9t=98
t=20

If y varies directly as x and inversely as z, and y = 32 whe x = 4 and z = 6, find y when x = 10 and z = 26
satela [25.4K]

The value of y is 18.46 when x=10 and z = 26

Step-by-step explanation:

The direct proportion is denoted as:

y∝x

And the inverse proportion will be denoted as:

y∝1/z

combining both

y∝ x/z

When the symbol of proportionality is removed, the proportionality constant is introduced

y = k\frac{x}{z}

Given

y = 32 when x=4 and z = 6

Putting the values

32 = k * \frac{4}{6}\\k = 32 * \frac{6}{4}\\k = 8*6\\k = 48

So the equation will become:

y = 48* \frac{x}{z}

Putting x=10 and z= 26

y = 48 * \frac{10}{26}\\y = \frac{480}{26}\\y = 18.4615

Hence,

The value of y is 18.46 when x=10 and z = 26

Help me answering this question
tatuchka [14]

Answer:

D

Step-by-step explanation:

when we perform each of these transformations, the only one that does <u>NOT</u> make shape F congruent (the same position, orientation and size) with shape G, for it reflects over and axis making it mirror to G, but is then ROTATED 90 degrees into shape G's sector, rotating the shape 90 degrees as well

hope this helps ya out :)

A computer costs $800. It loses ¼ of its value every 2 years after it is purchased.
Rufina [12.5K]

The computer will be worth $200.

Step-by-step explanation:

A quarter of $800 is $200, so the computer loses $200 dollars in value every two years. Since 6÷2 is 3, you multiple $200 by 3 to get $600. You then subtract $600 from $800 and get $200.
