This is only true per square mile or square kilometer, but it's false generally (so I would say that the statement is false).

For example, Hong Kong and Macau have by far higher population density (with Macau said to have the biggest population density in the world) than mainland China, but Mainland China has a larger population.

Explain how the peace of Augsburg, the edict of Nantes, and the peace of Westphalia all strengthened secular rulers
Debora [2.8K]

A secular ruler is one that is not guided by any particular form of religion. These 3 events were part of a gradual process that resulted in rulers adopting secularism.

 1. Peace of Augsburg: Signed in 1555, made it possible for rulers of the Holy Roman Empire to choose between Protestantism or Catholicism as their choice of belief.
 2. Edict of Nantes: Signed in 1598, granted the Protestants of France rights in the nation. Before this event, Protestants of France were considered as heretics.
 3. The Peace of Westphalia: Series of peace treaties signed in 1648 that ended the Religious Wars in Europe.

Utilitarians believe in A. breaking conventional moral rules whenever it's in one's self-interest. B. no moral rules whatsoever.
Dafna11 [192]

Answer:

C. only one absolute moral rule: the principle of utility.

Explanation:

In ethics, utilitarianism refers to a moral theory where the end result of attaining pleasure of happiness should be the single most important factor behind every action. First developed by philosopher Jeremy Bentham, he stated that the principle of utility should be the only absolute moral rule. this principle states that everything that increases happiness is good, and everything that produces the opposite of happiness is wrong. Utilitarians are thus concerned mostly with the end results, while the means are of a secondary nature and should only be judged by their capacity to increase happiness, not by whether they're good or bad.
