Suppose that a solution containing 3.50 grams of sodium phosphate (Na3PO4) is mixed with a solution containing 6.40 grams of bar

ium nitrate (Ba(NO3)2). Calculate the theoretical yield of barium phosphate (Ba3(PO4)2) during this reaction.

We are given
3.5 g Na3PO4
6.4 g Ba(NO3)2

and the reaction
2 Na3PO4 + 3 Ba(NO3)2 ----> Ba3(PO4)2 + 6 NaNO3

Convert the masses to moles using molar masses of N3PO4 and Ba(NO3)2
Next, determine the limiting reactant by using stoichiometry:
moles Na3PO4 (1 / 2) = moles Ba3PO4
moles Ba(NO3)2 (1 /3) = moles Ba3PO4

The lower amount of moles will be maximum and the reactant is limiting
Convert moles to mass and divide it by the mass of the limiting reactant to get the yield.

what conclusions can be made about the relationship between metallic character and the atomic radius?
kolezko [41]

We have to get the relationship between metallic character and atomic radius.

Metallic character increases with increase in atomic radius and decrease with decrease of atomic radius.

If electrons from outermost shell of an element can be removed easily, that atom can be considered to have more metallic character.

With increase in atomic radius, nuclear force of attraction towards outermost shell electron decreases which facilitates the release of electron.

With decrease in atomic radius, nuclear force of attraction towards outermost shell electrons increases, so electrons are hold tightly to nucleus. Hence, removal of electron from outermost shell becomes difficult making the atom less metallic in nature.

Does anyone know how to do this???
Lelechka [254]

Answer:

2.9 g/cm³

Explanation:

From the question given above, the following data were obtained:

Mass = 236.376 g

Volume = 81.5 cm³

Density =?

Density can be defined as the mass of a substance per unit volume of the substance. It can be expressed mathematically as:

Density = mass /volume

With the above formula, we can obtain the density of the object as shown below:

Mass = 236.376 g

Volume = 81.5 cm³

Density =?

Density = mass /volume

Density = 236.376 / 81.5

Density = 2.9 g/cm³

Thus, the density of the object is 2.9 g/cm³
