Answer:D. myelin sheath.

Explanation:living organisms have the ability to respond to stimuli .in humans ,the nervous system is responsible for this function.the nervous system consists of the brain , the spinal cord and nerves.

Neurons are found in the nervous system and help in the propagation of impulses across the body.a neuron usually consists of a dendrite, cell body and axon.

The axon extends from the cell body to the dendrite.

The axon is surrounded by the myelin sheath, which forms a whitish, fatty layer around it.the myelin sheath is produced by Schwann cells also called neurilemma.the neurilemma produces the myelin sheath.

The neurilemma is interrupted at intervals by the node of ranvier.

These features helps impulse moves faster along the neuron by reducing the distance it travels.

The Schwann cells is also responsible for the maintainance and regeneration of neurons

The antibacterial activity of penicillin is related to the inhibition of a key bacterial enzyme. Explain this mechanism of enzym
serious [3.7K]

Answer:

Penicillin binds and inhibits bacterial enzyme DD-transpeptidase.

Explanation:

Penicillin is made up of 4 rings of β-lactam and acts by binding to DD-transpeptidase of bacteria. The DD-transpeptidase facilitates the cross-linking of the peptidoglycan cell wall of bacteria. This leads to malformation of the protective cell wall of the bacteria and causes it to lyze and die.

Which statement is a reason for the peer rewiew process in scientific research
andreyandreev [35.5K]

The correct answer is the second choice - peer review process in scientific research exists in order to verify that the conclusions that are made are supported by the data. You cannot make a valid conclusion if you do not have enough evidence or data to prove it - this is why your peers have to go through your research to make sure everything is done according to the rules of scientific research.

Hope this helps.

ANSWER: MITRAL VALVE STENOSIS

EXPLANATION:

The child have the risk of having MITRAL VALVE STENOSIS. It is also referred to as mitral stenosis.

Mitral valve stenosis occurs as results of the mitral valve opening narrowing. Which effect to less blood flowing through it.

The mitral valve is located between two chambers (the atrium and the ventricle) on the left side of your heart.

However, Mitral valve stenosis can lead to different health issues, including blood clots, difficulty breathing, fatigue, and heart failure.

Mitral valve stenosis is specifically caused by rheumatic fever (a childhood disease). This rheumatic fever occurs has a result of the body's immune response to an infection associated with the streptococcal bacteria.

Acute rheumatic fever affects the joints and the heart greatly. It causes joints inflammation temporarily and in severe case causes chronic disability.

Nevertheless, this cardiac complication have treatment and it is based on whether the affected individuals shows symptoms. Medications like blood thinners or anticoagulants (to reduce the risk of blood clots), diuretics, antiarrhythmics (to cure abnormal heart rhythms), beta-blockers (to slow your heart) etc, are being administered based on the level of the complication.
