Even though, plants probably evolved from one group of green algal ancestors there are huge differences between them.    

Plants: vascular connective tissue, multicellular organisms, sesile organisms, adapted to land     <span> 


Algae: single-celled organisms (or in the colony), often moving via flagella, often aquatic, do not have structures such as roots, and leaves</span>
