First, we solve the determinants.

        3      4
D=                    =(3*3)-(4*5)=9-20=-11
         5      3

         -2        4
Dx=                  =(-2*3)-(4*4)=-6-16=-22
         4         3

         3        -2
Dy=                  =(3*4)-(-2*5)=12+10=22
         5         4

Now, we calculate "x" and "y":

x=Dx/D=-22/-11=2
y=Dy/D=22/-11=-2

Solution: x=2; y=-2.

The solution of the system can be x - 3y = 4 only if both the equations can be simplified to x - 3y = 4.

This will mean that both the equations will result in the same line which is x - 3y = 4 and thus have infinitely many solutions.

Second equation is:

Qx - 6y = 8
Taking 2 common we get:

(Q/2)x - 3y = 4

Comparing this equation to x- 3y = 4, we can say that

Q/2 = 1
So,
Q = 2

Therefore, the second equation will be:

2x - 6y = 8

In this composite function, (f◦g)(x) where f(x)=(X-3) and g(x)=X^2 what is (f◦g)(x) when x=1?
Alekssandra [29.7K]

Answer:

When x = 1, (f◦g)(x) is -2.

Step-by-step explanation:

Composite function:

The composite function of f and g is given by:

(f \circ g)(x) = f(g(x))

In this question:

f(x) = x - 3, g(x) = x^2

Composite function:

The composite function is:

f(g(x)) = f(x^2) = x^2 - 3

At x = 1

(f \circ g)(1) = 1^2 - 3 = 1 - 3 = -2

So

When x = 1, (f◦g)(x) is -2.

Each of the statements contains a blunder. In each case, choose the statement that correctly explains the blunder. (a) "There is
Vikki [24]

Answer:

Correlation requires both variables to be quantitative.

Step-by-step explanation:

The correlation coefficient measures the strength of relationship between two quantitative variables. In the given scenario correlation between sex of American workers and their income is computed and indicated that there is a high correlation between them. The sex of American worker is a categorical variable or a qualitative variable while income of American worker is a quantitative variable. The correlation between a quantitative variable and a qualitative variable can't be computed. So, the statement explains the blunder in the given scenario is "Correlation requires both variables to be quantitative".

It should be B or D. B because in 2 hours you make $10.50 and then add 15 minutes and you get B. It could also be D because that's doing $5.25 an hour which is true it's just deleting the extra 45 minutes so it can be either B or D.
