What biological processes are involved in algae blooms?

Biology

Answer:

Eutrophication

Explanation:

Algal bloom:

Algal bloom is the overgrowth of algae in a marine or freshwater environment resulting in pungent odors and discoloration of water. Algal blooms arise in nutrient rich water due to a process called eutrophication.

Eutrophication is the presence of excess nutrients in water that promote the growth of algae and aquatic plants. This excessive growth results in the depletion of oxygen.

Eutrophication causes the build-up of inorganic chemicals such as ammonia, hydrogen sulphide and nitrites to a level that becomes toxic for fish and organisms. This coupled with depletion of oxygen kills fish resulting in the addition of more nutrients to the water.

What mitochondrial structures are the site of the enzymes and carriers used to make ATP in the electron transport system
Alex_Xolod [135]

The mitochondrial structures are the site of the enzymes and carriers used to make ATP in the electron transport system are CRISTAE. These membrane structures form mitochondria.

Mitochondria and cellular respiration

Cellular respiration refers to the metabolic reaction by which aerobic cells produce ATP by using the energy stored in the chemical bonds of foods.

The Krebs cycle and oxidative phosphorylation are steps in cellular respiration that occur in the mitochondria.

A crista or cristae (plural) refers to a fold in the inner membrane of mitochondria, which is required during cellular respiration.

Identify a dependent variable measured in the researcher’s experiment. Identify one control that the researcher could use to imp
velikii [3]

Answer:

(a).concentrated lactic acid and that of NAD+.

(b).use of the response of NAD+ and lactic acid in absence of vitamin treatment as the CONTROL.

Explanation:

To understand this question and be able to solve this question efficiently we have to understand the concept of "respiration''. But, the short and the most simple answer to the question above can be found in the first statement of the question.

The electron transport chain include the cycle that occurs during glycolysis, fermentation and the transformation of NAD+ to form NADH and vice versa.

In the research, the dependent variable is the concentrated lactic acid and that of NAD+.

In order to increase the validity of the experiment, the Researcher can make use of the response of NAD+ and lactic acid in absence of vitamin treatment as the CONTROL.
