The perimeter of the rectangle is 48 cm.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the width of the rectangle = x

The length of the rectangle = 2x

so area =L X B = x X 2x =  2x^{2}

The each side of the square is 12 cm

so area = 12 X 12 sq cm = 144 sq cm

According to the problem,

2x^{2} = 144

or, x^{2} = 144/2 = 72

or, x = \sqrt{72}

= 8.4 = 8 (approx)

so length = 16 cm and width = 8 cm

Perimeter = 2 X ( L + B) = 2 X (16+8) = 48 cm

Polygon CCC has an area of 404040 square units. K 2ennan drew a scaled version of Polygon CCC using a scale factor of \dfrac12 1
nikdorinn [45]

Answer:

<em>Area of polygon D = 10 square units</em>

Step-by-step explanation:

<u>Given:</u>

Polygon <em>C </em>has an area of 40 square units.

It is scaled with a scale factor of \frac{1}2 to form a new polygon D.

<u></u>

<u>To find:</u>

The area of polygon D = ?

<u>Solution:</u>

When any polygon is scaled to half, then all the sides of new polygon are half of the original polygon.

And the area becomes one-fourth of the original polygon.

Let us consider this by taking examples:

  • First of all, let us consider a right angled triangle with sides <em>6, 8 and 10 units.</em>

Area of a right angled triangle is given by:

A = \dfrac{1}{2} \times Base \times Height\\\Rightarrow A = \dfrac{1}{2} \times 6 \times 8 = 24\ sq\ units

If scaled with a factor \frac{1}{2}, the sides will be 3, 4 and 5.

New area, A':

A' =\dfrac{1}{2} \times 3 \times 4 = 6\ sq\ units = \dfrac{1}4\times A

i.e. Area becomes one fourth.

  • Let us consider a rectangle now.

Sides be 8 and 10 units.

Area of a rectangle, A = Length \times Width = 8 \times 10 = 80 sq units.

Now after scaling, the sides will be 4 and 5 units.

New Area, A' = 4 \times 5 =20 sq units

So, \bold{A' = \frac{1}4 \times A}

Now, we can apply the same in the given question.

\therefore Area of polygon D = \bold{\frac{1}{4}}\times Area of polygon C

Area of polygon D = \bold{\frac{1}{4}}\times 40 = <em>10 sq units</em>

The equation $a^7xy-a^6y-a^5x=a^4(b^4-1)$ is equivalent to the equation $(a^mx-a^n)(a^py-a^2)=a^4b^4$ for some integers $m$, $n$
Ksivusya [100]
Let <span>simplify the equations a^7xy-a^6y-a^5x=a^4(b^4-1) and (a^mx-a^n)(a^py-a^2)=a^4b^4:
</span>
<span>1) a^7xy-a^6y-a^5x+a^4=a^4b^4
</span>
<span>and
</span>
<span>2) a^{m+p}xy-a^{n+p}y-a^{m+2}x+a^{n+2}=a^4b^4.
</span>
<span>Equate the coefficients:
</span><span>
</span><span>xy: m+p=7  \\ y: n+p=6 \\ x:  m+2=5 \\ 1: n+2=4.</span>
Then n=2 \\ p=4 \\ m=3 and mnp=24.

Answer:

  angles 1, 3, 6, 8 = 142°

  angles 2, 4, 5, 7 = 38°

Step-by-step explanation:

Vertical angles and corresponding angles are congruent, as are alternate interior angles. Hence the angles 1, 3, 6, 8 are all congruent:

  ∠1 = ∠3 = ∠6 = ∠8 = 142°

Each of the remaining angles forms a linear pair with one or another of those, so is its supplement:

  ∠2 = ∠4 = ∠5 = ∠7 = 180° -142° = 38°
