Grover was bullied because he was different, and his differences made it easy for other kids to bully him. He was scrawny, emotional, cripple (a muscular disease in his legs), and he walked funny.

Grover was an easy target. He was scrawny. He cried when he got frustrated. He must've been held back several grades, because he was the only sixth grader with acne and the start of a wispy beard on his chin. On top of all that, he was crippled. He had a note excusing him from PE for the rest of his life because he had some kind of muscular disease in his legs. He walked funny, like every step hurt him, but don't let that fool you. You should've seen him run when it was enchilada day in the cafeteria.

1. The word in the passage that is used connotatively is: C. Suffered

  • To use a word connotatively means that a word can change its meaning when used in different contexts such as the verb suffer here, that its general meaning is <u>"to feel pain or to be in an unpleasant situation"</u>, but if you say "<em>who on account of his illness was suffered to be out of irons" </em>the verb suffer here means <u>"to allow " or to permit": </u><em><u>"</u></em><em>who on account of his illness was </em><em>allowed</em><em> to be out of irons."</em>

2. Papago song's purpose is : D. To express

  • In the phrase <em>"and the wind seems to be blowing backward" </em>the author of the song maybe wanted to express things were not going how they were supposed to.

3. The primary source from early American and colonial literature is: A. the autobiography of Olaudah Equiano.

  • <em>The Interesting Narrative of the Life Of Olaudah Equiano</em>, an autobiography published in 1789,  dealt with themes such as slavery in West Africa and how the experience, which was also personal, differed from slavery in the Americas. However, this autobiography helped in the creation of the 1807 Slave Trade Act, which ended the transatlantic slave trade for England and its colonies. Therefore, studying his work nowadays continues to be important when learning about African and African-American literature and history.

4. The effect of the repetition in the lines from Edgar Allan Poe's The Raven is:  A. It creates an anxious tone.

  • Repetition in literature is usually used to increase enthusiasm or creating anxious tones and, as the purpose of Poe in these lines is to increase suspense and also, terror, when telling the story, the use of repetition works pretty well here.

One regulation the Federal Reserve imposes on banks is that they guarantee a portion of their money be available for their depos
UkoKoshka [18]

Answer: Banks would be able to loan more money.

Explanation:

The Fed does indeed do this and it is called the Reserve Requirement. It is a percentage of deposits that banks are to keep with the Fed and it has the effect of reducing the amount of money that banks have available to loan out to entities.

The Fed sets the percentage that the banks are to keep with it and this enables them to use it as a tool to control money supply because they could increase or decrease it depending on how much they want banks to lend out.
