Howdy! :D

Slope formula:

m= (y2-y1)/(x2-x1)

m= (7-3)/(-2-(-1)

m=4/(-2+1)

m=4/-1

The rise is 4. The run is -1. The slope is -4.

I hope this helps!

Hey there!

In this problem, we have two points, and our goal is to find the slope. In order to do this, we can use the slope given two points formula:

y2-y1/x2-x1

Now, we can plug in our values from the two points:

7-3/-2-(-1) =
4/-2+1 =
4/-1

That means -4 is our slope. The slope is defined as rise over run, so our rise is four, and our run is -1. Since slope is also defined as up/right, that negative denominator dictates the "right", and since it's negative, it goes left instead of right.

Hope this helps

How do i solve 3x² - 8x + 2 = 0 using quadratic formula?
DENIUS [597]
3x^2 - 8x + 2 = 0\\ \\a=3 , \ \ b=-8 , \ \ c=2 \\ \\x_{1}=\frac{-b-\sqrt{b^2-4ac}}{2a} =\frac{8-\sqrt{ (-8)^2-4 \cdot 3\cdot 2}}{2 \cdot 3} =\frac{8-\sqrt{ 64-24 }}{6} =\\ \\ =\frac{8-\sqrt{40 }}{6} = \frac{ 8-\sqrt{4\cdot 10 } }{6} = \frac{ 8-2\sqrt{ 10 }}{6} = \frac{2 (4-\sqrt{ 10 })}{6} = \frac{ 4-\sqrt{ 10 } }{3}

x_{2}=\frac{-b+\sqrt{b^2-4ac}}{2a} =\frac{8+\sqrt{ (-8)^2-4 \cdot 3\cdot 2}}{2 \cdot 3} = \frac{ 4+\sqrt{ 10 } }{3}

PLEASE HELP ME QUICKLY!!! Given that N:{1,2,3,5,8,13} and M:{−9,−8,−6,−4,−2,4}, which statements about N and M are true?
Lelechka [254]

Answer:

The intersection of N and M contains only those elements that are in both N and M.

The intersection of N and M is ϕ.

N∩M=∅

Step-by-step explanation:

Given

M = { 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13}

N = {-9, -8, -6, -4, -2, 4}

Now let us see each statement one by one.

The intersection of N and M contains only those elements that are in both N and M.

The statement is true because by definition intersection of two sets consists of common elements of both sets.

The intersection of N and M is ϕ.

The statement is true. As there is no common element in both sets.

The intersection of N and M is {−9,−8,−6,−4,−2}.

The statement is false because there is not common element in M and N.

N∪M=∅

The statement is false as the union consists of elements of both sets so it can't be empty.

N∩M=∅

True. Because no common element so intersection will be an empty set..
