How is the time frame of adaptation different from acclimatization?
Nataliya [291]

Answer:

Adaptation means diversion in both (chemical & physical) makeup of an organism brought about by diversion in habitat whereas acclimatization is the process which is defined by the adjustment of an individual organism to the environmental change ( altitude change, temperature, humidity, pH or photoperiod) thus creates an allowance which helps in the maintaining  of the performance  across a ranges of environmental conditions. Adaptation means genetic change  in population. It  brings a long term response over generations. It is reversible over generations if at all. Acclimatization brings phenotypic change in individual. It creates rapid response. It can be reversible over weeks/months.
