Depending on the resources available within the country, isolation can be a positive or negative thing. A country in close proximity to other countries can be greatly influenced through colonialism, or by being a colonial power, and trade between the two countries could lead to interdependence, or a dominant and submissive power.
An owner is usually responsible for large scale repairs of a unit as well as the obligations of the unit to the city and state in the form of property taxes.
A renter is responsible for keeping the unit in the same condition that it was handed to them by the owner.
