Polarity <span>is an essential and common feature in organisms, particularly at the cell level. Example: </span>polarity<span> of cells in a developing embryo (during embryogenesis) </span>polarity<span> of cells in axis formation.</span><span>

Molecular shape is </span>the arrangement of the atoms that is three-dimensional and <span>that constitute a </span>molecule. It determines several properties of a substance including its reactivity, polarity, phase of matter, color, magnetism and biological activity.

:) Sry if this is confusing.

Polarity- a seperation of electric charge leading to a molecule having an electric dipole.
Molecular shape- I<span>dentify the central atom.
Count its valence electrons.
Add one electron for each bonding atom.
Add or subtract electrons for charge
Divide the total of these by 2 to find the total.number of electron pairs.
<span>Use this number to predict the shape.</span></span>

bulgar [2K]

Answer:

The absorbance of the myoglobin solution across a 1 cm path is 0.84.

Explanation:

Beer-Lambert's law :

Formula used :

A=\epsilon \times c\times l

A=\log \frac{I_o}{I}

\log \frac{I_o}{I}=\epsilon \times c\times l

where,

A = absorbance of solution

c = concentration of solution

\epsilon = Molar absorption coefficient

l = path length

I_o = incident light

I = transmitted light

Given :

l = 1 cm, c = 1 mg/mL ,\epsilon = 15,000 M^{-1}cm^{-1}

Molar mass of myoglobin = 17.8 kDa = 17.8 kg/mol=17800 g/mol

(1 Da = 1 g/mol)

c = 1 mg /mL = {1mg /mL}{\text{Molar mass of myoglobin}}

c = \frac{1 mg/mL}{ 17800 g/mol} = 5.6179\times 10^{-5} mol/L

1 mg = 0.001 g, 1 mL = 0.001 L

A= 15,000 M^{-1}cm^{-1}\times 5.6179\times 10^{-5} mol/L\times 1 cm

A=0.8426 \approx 0.84

The absorbance of the myoglobin solution across a 1 cm path is 0.84.

What kind of chemical change do you think occurs when a banana peel turns brown in the open air?
Alisiya [41]
Rotting, and ageing. The banana peel ages faster in open air, and therefor begins to rot. Brow peels don't mean that the banana is rotted, however, it is a sign that it may begin to rot soon.

How many molecules are present in 1 teaspoon of sucrose if its mass is 4.10g? show your work
frozen [14]
4.10 g C12H22O11 * ( 1 mol / 342.2965 g ) * ( 6.022x10^23 / 1 mol ) = <span>7.2107077x10^21 molecules = 7.21x10^21 molecules

Convert grams to moles using the molar mass ( g/mol ).

Use Avogadro's constant ( 6.022x10^23 ) to get the quantity of molecules from the amount of moles.

Revise answer to have the correct number of significant figures ( the smallest amount of digits in any number in the problem is the amount of significant figures your answer should have ).</span>
