Answer:

Global warming is an effect on our planet that is caused by carbon dioxide being trapped in our atmosphere. When the carbon dioxide is trapped, it is bouncing off the bottom layer of the clouds. Some escapes into outer space, but most of it stays. We cause global warming, by using vehicles, making asphalt, burning fossil fuels, and many more.

An effect of global warming is our poles oceans are melting. When our polar caps melt most of the way, we will experience a lot of flooding for many coastal cities. We will also experience extreme weather, like stronger hurricanes, larger thunderstorms, and larger areas effected by other natural disasters.

One thing we can do to stop or slow down these effects is to use vehicles less (or make better vehicles for the environment), stop burning fossil fuels, and make a world-wide law to prevent certain things from commencing. Nuclear bombs are also a problem to global warming. We will hopefully never reach that problem.

Since the new oceanic crust is created at the mid-ocean ridges, then the Earth is getting bigger.
Svet_ta [14]

Answer:

False

Explanation:

It is true that new crust is being created at the mid-oceanic ridges, but this does not make the Earth any bigger despite the the growth of oceanic crusts in these regions.

The reason that Earth does not get bigger is because the same plates that are being created at the divergent plate boundaries are recycled into the mantle at the subduction zones. Because of this, the surface area of the Earth remains the same.

I was checking my answers for a chem test and came across a solution for a problem where the ∆S was pos, ∆H was neg and ∆G was n
nevsk [136]

Answer:

there is only 15 points

Explanation:

The second law of thermodynamics says that the entropy of the universe always increases for a spontaneous process: \Delta \text {S}_{\text{universe}}=\Delta \text {S}_{\text{system}} + \Delta \text {S}_{\text{surroundings}} > 0ΔS

At constant temperature and pressure, the change in Gibbs free energy is defined as \Delta \text G = \Delta \text H - \text{T}\Delta \text SΔG=ΔH−TΔSdelta, start text, G, end text, equals, delta, start text, H, end text, minus, start text, T, end text, delta, start text, S, end text.

When \Delta \text GΔGdelta, start text, G, end text is negative, a process will proceed spontaneously and is referred to as exergonic.

The spontaneity of a process can depend on the temperature.

Spontaneous processes

In chemistry, a spontaneous processes is one that occurs without the addition of external energy. A spontaneous process may take place quickly or slowly, because spontaneity is not related to kinetics or reaction rate. A classic example is the process of carbon in the form of a diamond turning into graphite, which can be written as the following reaction:
