The volume of a swimming pool is 4x^3 - 20x^2 + 3x - 15 . what is one of the dimensions of the pool
maxonik [38]

Answer:

Height = x - 5 --- one of the dimension

Step-by-step explanation:

Given

Volume = 4x^3 - 20x^2 + 3x - 15

Required

The side dimension

Factorize the given expression

Volume = 4x^2 (x- 5) + 3(x - 5)

Factor out x - 5

Volume = (4x^2  + 3)(x - 5)

Volume is the product of base area and height'

Hence:

Area = 4x^2 + 3

Height = x - 5

What is the following product? Assume x greater-than-or-equal-to 0 (4 x StartRoot 5 x squared EndRoot 2 x squared StartRoot 6 En
Evgen [1.6K]

The simplified expression for the product (4x\sqrt{5x^2} )(2x^2\sqrt{6}) is:

8\sqrt{30} x^4

The given expression is:

(4x\sqrt{5x^2} )(2x^2\sqrt{6})

Note that :

\sqrt{5x^2} = x\sqrt{5}

The given expression can then be re-written as:

(4x^2\sqrt{5} )(2x^2\sqrt{6})

Multiplying like terms together:

8x^4\sqrt{30}

Finally, the resulting expression can be written as:

8\sqrt{30} x^4

I don't understand how to work this out, can someone please help me??
Anarel [89]
To solve this, we need to use the law of sines...SinA/a = SinB/b = SinC/c

if we think of this as a triangle...the other side of the 55 degrees is our ∠A (35°)...find this by 90 - 55 = 35. Let side a = X. Side c = 4 and ∠C = 90°

now let's do some math...

sin90 / 4  =  sin35 / x      (multiply both sides by x)
xsin90 / 4 = sin35            (multiply both sides by 4)
xsin90 = 4sin35              (divide both sides by sin90)
x = 4sin35 / sin90
x = 2.29
