Answer:

a) EPS 2.367 dollars

b) price-earning ratio 15

c) book value of a common share 5.33

Explanation:

a) earning per share: income / shares outstanding

2,000,000 / 750,000 = 2.67

b) price / EPS

40 / 2.67 = 15

c) We determinate this using the accounting equation:

Assets = Liab + Equity

   Assets 9,000,000

  Liabilities 5,000,000

  Equity 4,000,000

equity / shares outstanding:

4,000,000 / 750,000 = 5.3333

Illusion [34]

Answer: d) Analyze the bad news to see how it will affect his reader.

Explanation:

The first thing that Taylor should do is to analyze the bad news so that he can predict the likely effect on the client.

Once he predicts this, he can be able to deliver the bad news in such a way that the client would not be too annoyed by it. It would also allow him to offer alternatives that might be applicable and doable to the client.

Dr interest expense $11,300

Cr Cash $11,300

Explanation:

Upon the receipt of $226,000 from bond issue, cash acount would be debited with $226,000 and bonds payable account would be credited with the same amount.

When land purchased, the land account is debited with $226,000 and cash is credited with $226,000.

The receipt of $74,000 from lease rental means that cash is debited and the lease revenue is credited.

The coupon interest on the bonds=$226,000*5%=$11,300

The coupon interest is debited to interest expense and credited to cash in each of the two years.
