Answer:

The correct answer is c.

Explanation:

Monopolies are considered negative in a free market economy because, through their economic dominance, they distort markets and stifle competition. In order to combat the rise of monopolies, the United States has a series of antitrust laws, which are meant to enhance competition and discourage and penalize monopolistic business practices.

The 1890 Sherman Act, the 1914 Clayton Act and the 1914 Federal Trade Commission Act represent the three main antitrust laws that regulate business practices for national and foreign enterprises that conduct trade in or with the United States. However, the 1982 Foreign Trade Antitrust Improvements Act regulates the international scope of these antitrust laws. Generally speaking, it states that they can't be enforced outside the US, unless the monopolistic practices affect exports from and imports into the US. According to this interpretation, foreign companies that do business in the US can be subject to antitrust laws if their business practices are considered monopolistic under them.

larisa [96]

Answer:

Sometimes we convince ourselves that we are right and Socrates being an extremely intelligent person might simply come up with an idea and share it to the world and his fellow thinkers, but instead he thought twice and tried to disprove his own idea to see if it really was correct, original and going to be accepted.

Describe what sanctions are and why they are needed.
Katen [24]
Most members of society follow norms without conscious thought. However, not everyone internalizes all of society's norms. Some people must be motivated by sanctions. These are rewards or punishments used to enforce conformity to norms. There are positive sanctions, actions that reward a particular kind of behavior, and negative sanctions, punishments or the threats of punishment used to enforce conformity. In addition, there are formal and informal sanctions. Formal sanctions are rewards or punishments given by a formal organization or regulatory agency. Informal sanctions are spontaneous expressions of approval or disapproval given by an individual or a group.
