The  solubility   for    CUi   is   calculated  as   follows
write    the  equation  for  dissociation  of   CUi

that  is    CUI  ---->  CU +    +  i -

Ksp= (Cu+) (I-)

let  the  concentration  of  CU+  be    represented   by  x  and  also  that  of   I-  be  represented   by  also  x

Ksp  is  therefore=  X2

x2  =   1x10^-12
find  the    square  root   x is  therefore  = 1  x10^-6

by  use  of  mole  ratio  the   solubity  of  CUi  is  therefore =   1  x10 ^-6

Water is 11% hydrogen and 89% oxygen by mass. How many grams of oxygen are in a 250 g glass of water?
mylen [45]

Answer:

mass O2 = 222.5 g

Explanation:

  • %wt = ((mass compound)/(mass sln))×100

balance reaction:

  • 2H2 + O2 ↔ 2H2O

∴ %wt H2 = 11 % = ((mass H2)/(mass H2O))×100

∴ %wt O2 = 89 % = ((mass O2)/(mass H2O))×100

∴ mass H2O 250 g

⇒ mass O2 = (0.89)(250 g)

⇒ mass O2 = 222.5 g

In the gaseous state, chlorine exists as a diatomic molecule Cl2 (Molar mass = 70.9 g/mol). Calculate the number of moles of chl
kap26 [50]

Cl is stable as a diatomic molecule where the 2 Cl atoms are held together by a covalent bond

molar mass of the diatomic molecule is 70.9 g/mol

therefore 70.9 g of Cl₂ is - 1 mol

then 140 g of Cl₂ is - 1/70.9 x 140 = 1.97 mol

there are 1.97 mol of Cl₂ present
