The distance between Angela's house and the gas station, is the distance between the points (4,3) and (10,8). To find that distance, we are going to use the distance formula: d= \sqrt{(x_2-x_1)^2+(y_2-y_1)^2}

From our two points we can infer that x_1=4, y_1=3, x_2=10, and y_2=8. So lets replace those values in our ditance formula:
d= \sqrt{(x_2-x_1)^2+(y_2-y_1)^2}
d= \sqrt{(10-4)^2+(8-3)^2}
d= \sqrt{(6)^2+(5)^2}
d= \sqrt{36+25}
d= \sqrt{61}

We can conclude that the gas station is \sqrt{61} units, which is approximately 7.8 units, from her house.

traingle abc is an isosceles right triangle with the measure of angle a equal to 90 degrees. the length of segment ac is 6 cm. w
Semmy [17]
Isosceles right triangles are half squares, and if the length of one side is 6cm, that is the length of the other side since both segments are equal. Take the formula to find the area of a square (base times height), apply the side measurement of the triangle (6cm) and divide it in half to find the area of half of it (therefore, finding the area of the isosceles triangle.)

(6x6) / 2
6x6 = 36
36 / 2 = 18

The area of the isosceles triangle is 18 square centimeters.

I Need help with question 21 and 22 !
USPshnik [31]
11) First, add 74 and 43.

74+43=117

Subtract 117 from 180. Do this because this will give you the value of angle 1. This is because the sum of the angles in a triangle will always add up to 180 degrees.

180-117=63

Angle 1 = 63 degrees

Angle 2 also equals 63 degrees, because they are vertical angles.

Angle 2= 63 degrees

Now, add 63 and 79

63+79=142

Subtract 142 from 180

180-142=38

Angle 3 = 38 degrees

12)

First, subtract 56 from 180. Do this to find angle C. They are supplementary angles, so they will equal 180 degrees.

180-56=124

Angle C=124 degrees

Now, add 124 and 20

124+20=144

Finally, subtract 144 from 180

180-144=36

The measure of angle A is 36 degrees

Hope this helped! :)

Agata [3.3K]
Hi there! The answer is 3, 6, 7, and 9.
1,2,4,5,8, and 10 cannot be put as denominators because if so, there would be:
1. no decimals
2. termination after one or two decimal places.

Cheers!

Answer:

3.56 cm.

Step-by-step explanation:

1/3 π r^2 h = V

1/3 π (5.13)^2 h  = 98

h = 98 / (1/3 π (5.13)^2)

=  98 / 27.55899

= 3.556.
