The distance between Angela's house and the gas station, is the distance between the points (4,3) and (10,8). To find that distance, we are going to use the distance formula: d= \sqrt{(x_2-x_1)^2+(y_2-y_1)^2}

From our two points we can infer that x_1=4, y_1=3, x_2=10, and y_2=8. So lets replace those values in our ditance formula:
d= \sqrt{(x_2-x_1)^2+(y_2-y_1)^2}
d= \sqrt{(10-4)^2+(8-3)^2}
d= \sqrt{(6)^2+(5)^2}
d= \sqrt{36+25}
d= \sqrt{61}

We can conclude that the gas station is \sqrt{61} units, which is approximately 7.8 units, from her house.

We need to find the value of the hypotenuse in order to solve this problem.

12^2+4^2=H^2

Therefore:

H=√(144+16)

H=4√10

Now:

sin(G)=O/H=4/(4√10)

=1/(√10)

=(√10)/10

Luisa ran 3 2/3kilometers in 1/3 of an hour. If speed is distance over time calculate luisa's speed
zloy xaker [14]
Since the distance is 3.667km and the time is 1/3 of an hour (20 minutes) we take the distance and divide it with time 3.667/20 thus the answer is
