There are many different types of equations we can use to allow x to equal 19! Below are some examples :) See if you can come up with some on your own based off of these examples:

5x = 95.....................................Divide both sides b 5

x = 19.......................................There's one for you :)

_____________________________________________________________

1 + x - 5 = 15............................Combine like terms

x - 4 = 15..................................Add 4 to both sides

x = 19
_____________________________________________________________

There's just a couple of examples, but see if you can come up with some on your own and let me know if you get stuck!

Thank you for your question! I hope this helped! Have an amazing day and feel free to let me know if I can help you any further! :D

Step-by-step explanation:

Given the equation;

n/10 + 7 = 10

We are to find the value of n

Subtract 7 from both sides

n/10 + 7 - 7 = 10 - 7

n/10 = 3

Cross multiply

n = 10 * 3

n = 30

Abby has a collection of 61 dimes and nickels worth $4.40.How many nickels does she have?
Anestetic [448]

9514 1404 393

Answer:

  34

Step-by-step explanation:

Let x represent the number of nickels Abby has. Then the number of dimes is 61-x. The total value of the coins, in cents, is ...

  5x +10(61-x) = 440

  -5x +610 = 440 . . . . . simplify

  x - 122 = -88 . . . . . . . .divide by -5

  x = 34 . . . . . . . . . . . . add 122

Abby has 34 nickels in her collection of coins.

At the sewing store, Eva bought a bag of mixed buttons. She got 64 large buttons and 16 small buttons. What percentage of the bu
DIA [1.3K]

Answer:

80% of the buttons were large.

Step-by-step explanation:

Recall that percentages are fractions.

We first need to find the total number of buttons that Eva bought

64 + 16 = 80

Then we need to divide 64 into 80 as a fraction of the whole (80 is our whole)

64 ÷ 80 = 0.8

To convert our decimal to a percentage, we must multiply it by 100.

0.8 * 100% = 80%

Therefore, 80% of the buttons were large.
