A pearl is formed in 1 of every 10,000 oysters. What percent of oysters make pearls? Hint: An answer of 1, percent would mean 1

of every 100 oysters. Pearls are more rare than that, so the answer will be less than 1 percent. Please choose from one of the following options. 2 percent . 7 percent 0.01, percent or 0.001%

1 out of 1000 pearls = 1:10,000 =

\frac{1}{10,000} = 0.0001 = 0.01%  (whenever you make a decimal into a percent, you move the decimal point 2 times)

The answer is 0.01%

It would be 0.001 because if 1 is for 100 oysters, then you would add two zero's in front and move the decimal point over twice, therefore you get 0.001% as your answer.

the product of 2 consecutive positive into is 1,332. Explain how you can write and solve a quadratic equation to find the value
Dominik [7]
Let the smaller one is x so the larger is x+1
x(x+1)=1332
x^2+x=1332
x^2 +x -1332 =0
(x - 36)(x + 37) =0
so x = 36 or x = -37
therefor the larger integer is either 37 or -36

Find the general indefinite integral. (Use C for the constant of integration. Remember to use absolute values where appropriate.
Maru [420]

Answer:

9\text{ln}|x|+2\sqrt{x}+x+C

Step-by-step explanation:

We have been an integral \int \frac{9+\sqrt{x}+x}{x}dx. We are asked to find the general solution for the given indefinite integral.

We can rewrite our given integral as:

\int \frac{9}{x}+\frac{\sqrt{x}}{x}+\frac{x}{x}dx

\int \frac{9}{x}+\frac{1}{\sqrt{x}}+1dx

Now, we will apply the sum rule of integrals as:

\int \frac{9}{x}dx+\int \frac{1}{\sqrt{x}}dx+\int 1dx

9\int \frac{1}{x}dx+\int x^{-\frac{1}{2}}dx+\int 1dx

Using common integral \int \frac{1}{x}dx=\text{ln}|x|, we will get:

9\text{ln}|x|+\int x^{-\frac{1}{2}}dx+\int 1dx

Now, we will use power rule of integrals as:

9\text{ln}|x|+\frac{x^{-\frac{1}{2}+1}}{-\frac{1}{2}+1}+\int 1dx

9\text{ln}|x|+\frac{x^{\frac{1}{2}}}{\frac{1}{2}}+\int 1dx

9\text{ln}|x|+2x^{\frac{1}{2}}+\int 1dx

9\text{ln}|x|+2\sqrt{x}+\int 1dx

We know that integral of a constant is equal to constant times x, so integral of 1 would be x.

9\text{ln}|x|+2\sqrt{x}+x+C

Therefore, our required integral would be 9\text{ln}|x|+2\sqrt{x}+x+C.

It takes a jet 2 hours to fly 1100 miles at this rate. How far does it fly in 8 hours
aivan3 [116]

Answer: The jet will fly 4400miles in 8 hours.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the missing value be represented by x

2 hours = 1100 miles

8 hours = x

We cross multiply:

2x = 1100 x 8

2x = 8800

Divide both sides by 2 to get the value of x

x = 8800/2

x = 4400

Therefore, the jet will fly 4400miles in 8 hours.
