To do this we will divide. lets do it:-

37 ÷ 4 = 9.25

So, now we will multiply. 

9 × 4 = 36.

Next subtract.

37 - 36 = 1

So, Brody will have 1 action figure left over with each of the 4 shelves having 9 action figures each.
