Rounding to the nearest tenth means 0.1. If the hundredth place is above or at 5, the tenth place goes up by 1. If the hundredth place is below 5, it stays the same.
Example: 15.423 -> 15.4
PROBLEM: 98.873 -> 98.9
Since the hundredth place is 7, which is more then 5, you add 1 to the tenth place which then gives us 98.9
Divide the second amount by five to find out how much it costs at the second farmers market to get 1 pound of bananas. 5/5=1 4.50/5=.9 .9>.8 so the first farmers market had a better deal.
