How can local environmental changes have global effects?
Alex777 [14]

Answer:

D

Explanation:

Water and air circulate around the world in water currents and wind systems (like prevailing winds) respectively, hence distribute energy and whatever else they are carrying across the globe. This is why polluting the oceans in the equatorial region will have indirect consequences for marine life in the poles.

Pollution of air through emission of greenhouse gases in one part of the globe will contribute to global warming across the world because these emissions will be carried around by prevailing winds and diffuse across the atmosphere.

Global warming also causes climate change that subsequently causes the displacement or migration of organisms when this change in climate is unfavorable

Why is the Calvin cycle considered a dark reaction?
Liono4ka [1.6K]

The correct answer for this question is (D) It can proceed in the dark.

Calvin cycle is named after Melvin C. Calvin, who won a Nobel prize in chemistry for finding it in 1961. Calvin cycle take place in chloroplasts during photosynthesis and it is a light-independent reaction so also called as dark reaction.

The Calvin cycle proceeds in three stages:

1. Carboxylation, during which CO2 combines with ribulose-1,5- bisphosphate

2. Reduction, during which carbohydrate is formed at the expense of photochemically made ATP and NADPH

3. Regeneration during which the CO2 acceptor ribulose-1,5- bisphosphate is formed again so that the cycle continues.

Why is it important to be extra careful when assisting a person
who is bleeding or vomiting?
Dmitriy789 [7]

Answer:

Because if you are too careless you could make the whole situation even worse, but also risk killing them.

Explanation:

If you lose to much blood you could die, basically if you have no clue what you're doing you could cause them to bleed out more or try to help them up and... well you know. Also, you can choke on your vomit, after all that's food coming up not trying to go back down, if that person is vomiting a lot trying to rest them on there back is only probably going to kill them( I'm just saying).
