How many atoms of group one would react with one atom of group five?

Group 1 elements are comprised of: (1) hydrogen, sodium, lithium, potassium, rubidium, caesium, and francium. The tendency of these atoms is to lose one of their electrons such that they become charge +1.

Group 5 elements contains the vanadium, niobium, tantalum, and dubnium. It is quite hard to predict the oxidation number of these elements such that it will be hard to determine the number of atoms needed to react with them. Their valence electron is 5, and they react by losing them. Hence, in order to reach the octet rule, 3 group 1 elements should be reacted.

Josh attempted 56 free throws during the basketball season. He made 57 of them. How many free throws did he make?
Scorpion4ik [409]

Answer:

He made approximately 32 free throws.

Step-by-step explanation:

Assuming that there's a typo in the question and that he made 57% of his attempted free throws, then we can solve it as shown below:

We can apply a rule of three in order to calculate the number of free throws he made. This is done as follows:

56 free throws -> 100%

x free throws -> 57%

56/x = 100/57

100*x = 57*56

x = 57*56/100 = 31.92

It can also be solved by transforming the percentage in a fraction such as 57% = 57/100 and then multiplying it by the total attempts.

free throws made = 56*57/100 = 31.92

He made approximately 32 free throws.

The table below shows the fourth roots of different numbers: Number (x) 16,16,81,81 Fourth root of the number (y) 2 −2 3 −3 Part
MA_775_DIABLO [31]
Part A) Y cannot be described as a function of x, because in order to be a function, there can only be one input, the x value, for every output, f(x) or the y value. Since the x value, 16, generates two y values, -2 and 2, this cannot be called a function.

Part B)
<span>f(x) = 25x + 16
f(20)= 25(20) + 16
f(20) = 500 + 16
f(20) = 516

This is the total cost, in dollars, of renting the truck for 20 hours. </span>
