For genital arousal and orgasm to be possible during sex and foreplay, reflexes from the spinal cord conciliated by genital afferents from the pudendal nerve must be present. However, an injury to the spinal cord will most likely alter the neurophysiology of the genital organs of a woman and apparently lead to a disturbance in its proper functioning. Hence Leiko has had a problem with her spinal cord since the functioning of her genitals has been impaired.
