First, distribute -2 into the parentheses which gives you y+4=-2x+2. Subtract 4 to both sides and you get y=-2x-2. This would be the slope-intercept form of the original equation.

Slope Intercept Form (SIF) is the standard way to write the equation for a line on a graph. It can be represented as

y=mx+b where "m" is the slope and "b" is the y-intercept.

To put an equation in SIF, we must simply solve the equation like we are solving for y, and then order and simplify our terms.

y+4=-2(x-1)
y+4=-2x+2
   -4        -4
y=-2x-2

There is no more simplifying to do, so this equation is y=-2x-2 in Slope Intercept Form.

Find x on this triangle
blsea [12.9K]

Answer:

3 sqrt(3) =x

Step-by-step explanation:

Since this is a right triangle, we can use trig functions

cos theta = adj / hyp

cos 30 = x/6

6 cos 30 = x

6 ( sqrt(3)/2) = x

3 sqrt(3) =x

2.Solve the following quadratic equations<br> i. 9x^2 - 1/16<br> ii. 2h^2 - 3h - 27
Juli2301 [7.4K]
i)~9x^2-\dfrac{1}{16}=0\iff9x^2=\dfrac{1}{16}\iff x^2=\dfrac{1}{9\cdot16}\iff \\\\x^2=\dfrac{1}{144}\iff x=\pm\sqrt{\dfrac{1}{144}}=\pm\dfrac{1}{12}\Longrightarrow\boxed{x=\pm\dfrac{1}{12}}

ii)~2h^2-3h-27=0\\\\\Delta=b^2-4ac\to \Delta=(-3)^2-4\cdot2\cdot(-27)\to\Delta=9+216=225\\\\&#10;\Longrightarrow h=\dfrac{-b\pm\sqrt{\Delta}}{2a}=\dfrac{-(-3)\pm\sqrt{225}}{2\cdot2}=\dfrac{3\pm15}{4}\\\\\begin{cases}h_1=\dfrac{3+15}{4}=\dfrac{18}{4}\iff \boxed{h_1=\dfrac{9}{2}}\\h_2=\dfrac{3-15}{4}=\dfrac{-12}{4}\iff\boxed{h_2=-3}\end{cases}

Please help me
galben [10]

Answer:

A = 0.25*j + 1

Step-by-step explanation:

The question presented here is an application of linear models. The $1 amount is fixed and does not depend on any factor such as the cups of orange juice sold.

Furthermore, we are informed that we earn $0.25 for every cup of orange juice sold. This means that we shall earn 0.25 j by selling  j cups of orange juice.

The variable total amount, A will thus depend on the fixed amount of $1 and the variable income 0.25 j.

The equation in two variables that will represent the total amount A (in dollars) you have after selling j cups of orange juice will thus be;

A = 0.25*j + 1
