Write using exponents.
(–4)(–4)
Dahasolnce [82]
Exponents are the repeated multiplication of a number. It is represented by the formula of a^n where a is the number to be repeated and n is the number of times the number is being multiplies by itself. Also include the sign of the number, no matter how it is multiplied, it is still important. In this problem, you have 4 as the repeated number. You can see that it is multiplied by itself by two times. So you have (-4)^2.

Suppose you have $20 to spend on party decorations. Balloons are $0.05 each, streamers are $0.25 each, and noisemakers are $0.40
sergejj [24]

[C] 0.05b + 0.25s + 0.4n = 20

b = balloons

s = streamers

n = noisemaker

Since they already give us the price of each item we just need to add a variable at the end of each one since we don't know how many of each item is bought. Adding the costs of all the party supplies should not go over $20. We can automatically eliminate B and D. We can also eliminate A because the prices of each item are incorrect. Therefore, C is the correct answer.

Best of Luck!

3x-2y=13 and 2x+3y=-16
Marysya12 [62]
If youre trying to solve for the variables you have to solve for one of them in one equation first, so if you solved for x in 2x+3y=16 youd get x=8-(3/2)y. Then youd have to sub in that x for the x in the other equation so youd get 3(8-(3/2)y)-2y=13 then solve for y. Once you have the value of y it should be the same in both equations. Plug that new value of y into the equation of youre choosing then sove for x
