Answer: 20.5

Form your equation. The formula for perimeter is (2l)(2w) or l + l + w + w, where l = length and w = width.
(l - 5) + (l - 5) + (l) + (l) = 72

Simplify and solve your equation.
4l - 10 = 72
4l = 82
l = 20.5

Since l = length, length = 20.5 and width = 15.5

You can check your work, too:
20.5 + 20.5 + 15.5 + 15.5 = 72

Which statement is true? Without the earth's moon, life on Earth would not be possible. The earth's moon is the smallest moon re
suter [353]

Answer:

Why are you asking here?

Step-by-step explanation:

Anyways its in what you asked:

"The earth's moon is thought to have formed when a Mars-sized planet collided with Earth during its final stages of planetary accretion."

This is because, in my science class at least, our teacher taught us that a Mars sized object collided with earth, and the debris from this caused the moon to form. This is also highly likely in early solar systems, as they are very dangerous with many objects crashing and colliding with other objects.

"Without the earth's moon, life on Earth would not be possible."

Maybe? I don't know. I think False on this one because we don't yet know how life came into existence, where compounds turned into organic compounds or something like that.

"The earth's moon is the smallest moon relative to its host planet."

I think that's Mars's moons, so false(Don't know much about astronomy)

"The earth's moon is the same size as the earth."

Very, Very, VERY unlikely. This would cause both the Earth and the Moon to rip each other to shreds with their own gravity, and we would have serious planet sized-problems.

Hope this helps!

The perimeter of a rectangle is 42 inches. If the width of the rectangle is 6 inches, what is the length? A. 12 inches B. 15 inc
Ede4ka [16]

Answer: 15 Inches

Step-by-step explanation:Remember that the Perimeter of a rectangle is the distance around it.

So,

    Perimeter = Length + Width + Length + Width

or

     P = 2L + 2W

If P=42 inches and W = 6 inches,

    42 = 2L + 2(6)

    42 = 2L + 12

    30 = 2L              [subtract 12 from both sides]

    15 = L               [divide both sides by 2]

The length (L) is 15 inches.

Find the component form of the resultant vector
Lera25 [3.4K]
Answer to problem 1 is {-144,-192}
Answer to problem 2 is {-12,-12}

-------------------------------------------------

Explanation:

Vector u is given to be u = {-18,-24}
To compute the vector 8*u, we multiply both sides by 8 and multiply each coordinate by 8
The rule I'm using is if u = (a,b) then k*u = (k*a,k*b)

So,
u = {-18,-24}
8*u = 8*{-18,-24}
8*u = {8*(-18),8*(-24)}
8*u = {-144,-192}

Problem 2 is handled the same way
f = {-2,-2}
6*f = 6*{-2,-2}
6*f = {6*(-2),6*(-2)}
6*f = {-12,-12}
