Answer: 20.5

Form your equation. The formula for perimeter is (2l)(2w) or l + l + w + w, where l = length and w = width.
(l - 5) + (l - 5) + (l) + (l) = 72

Simplify and solve your equation.
4l - 10 = 72
4l = 82
l = 20.5

Since l = length, length = 20.5 and width = 15.5

You can check your work, too:
20.5 + 20.5 + 15.5 + 15.5 = 72

What is the value of 9 in the number 59.533
hoa [83]
First you have to label the other number , example : Ones, Tens, Hundreds
_______________________________________________________

5 9 . 5 3 3      | Start at the end , the number 3 , So it's 3= Ones , 3 , Tens , 5= Hundreds , There is a decimal so start over =  9= Ones

The number Nine is just 9 , because it's in the ones place and if it's in the ones place most of the time it stays the same.

I really hope that my solutions and example helped you a lot , have a nice day :)

The ticket office at Orchestra Center estimates that if it charges x dollars for box seats for a concert, it will sell 50 - x bo
yan [13]
S=50x-x^2

dS/dx=50-2x

d2S/dx2=-2

Since acceleration is a constant negative, when velocity equals zero, it is at the absolute maximum point for S(x)...

dS/dx=0 only when 50-2x=0, 2x=50, x=25

So the price that will maximize income is $25.00 a seat.

And that maximum income is:

S(25)=50x-x^2

S(25)=$625.00

Given a standardized normal distribution (with a mean of O and a standard deviation of 1), determine the following probabilities
Mkey [24]

Answer:

a) P(Z > 1.09) = 0.1379

b) P(Z < -0.22) = 0.4129.

c) P(Z < -1.96) = 0.025, P(Z > -1.96) = 0.025

d) Z = 1.4

Step-by-step explanation:

Normal Probability Distribution:

Problems of normal distributions can be solved using the z-score formula.

In a set with mean \mu and standard deviation \sigma, the z-score of a measure X is given by:

Z = \frac{X - \mu}{\sigma}

The Z-score measures how many standard deviations the measure is from the mean. After finding the Z-score, we look at the z-score table and find the p-value associated with this z-score. This p-value is the probability that the value of the measure is smaller than X, that is, the percentile of X. Subtracting 1 by the p-value, we get the probability that the value of the measure is greater than X.

a. P(Z > 1.09)

This is 1 subtracted by the pvalue of Z = 1.09.

Z = 1.09 has a pvalue of 0.8621

1 - 0.8621 = 0.1379, so

P(Z > 1.09) = 0.1379

b. P(Z < -0.22)

This is the pvalue of Z = -0.22.

Z = -0.22 has a pvalue of 0.4129. So

P(Z < -0.22) = 0.4129.

c) P(Z < -1.96) or P(Z > -1.96)

Z = -1.96 has a pvalue of 0.025. So

1 - 0.025 = 0.975

P(Z < -1.96) = 0.025

P(Z > -1.96) = 0.025

d. What is the value of Z if only 8.08% of all possible Z-values are larger?

Z with a pvalue of 100 - 8.08 = 91.92 = 0.9192, so Z = 1.4
